Summer Camps

The Lamoille County Nature Center Summer Camp Program is a favorite for nature-lovers ages 4-12.  Campers make summer memories exploring and discovering the forests, fields and trails of our beautiful 40 acres on Cole Hill Road in Morrisville.  Summer Camps are week-long day camp programs and are geared towards a theme and age range for each week.

Camp will return for Summer 2022

Registration is slated to open for March.

Summer Camp Programs 2021

Forest Fairy Camp ~ Ages 4-5  (FULL)

June 28-July2, 8:00-12:00

Our popular half-day camp for the littlest campers, we will take to the woods, fields and frog pond to craft, create and explore all things fairy!  Campers will start the morning with a craft and story time, after which we’ll head to the forest to work on our fairy village and ramble along the trails searching for glimpses of nature’s magic.

Sensory Superpowers ~ Ages 5-8  (FULL)

 July 5-9 9:00-3:00

In this camp we will learn about wildlife with major superpowers like the ability to smell with their tongue, see ultraviolet light or have infrasonic hearing.  Think you might have super-senses?  Give them a try with activities like a scent trail, a color hunt, a mystery nature grab-bag and plenty of rounds of camouflage in the forest.  We’ll also construct our own pond peepers to observe aquatic critters that sport their own brand of sensory superpowers.

Wild in the Wilderness ~ Ages 8-12  (FULL)

July 12-16, 9:00-3:00 M-F

Have you been getting enough vitamin N?  We’ll soak up plenty of N(ature) as we test our inner GPS, play games in the woods, stir up earth paints and herb teas, craft nature journals and walking sticks and cook up some campfire cuisine.

COVID-19 Precautions

Our camps take place entirely outdoors and we like to keep our group-sizes small even in “normal” years.  In addition, the following precautions will help keep our staff, campers and community safe:

Masks and social distancing  will be required at all times.

A  completed health screening form and temperature check will be required at drop-off daily.

Frequently used surfaces will be disinfected throughout the day.

Multiple hand-washing stations and hand sanitizer will be provided.
