ACTIVITIES AND UPDATES:
-Waterbury Garden Tour Update, Deb
-Hyde Park Meadows Tour Update, Denise and Deb
The Community Garden Pollinator Plant Bank is recovering. A number of plants withstood the
storm. It’s always a work in progress; seeds, plants, and weeding are needed. Any native sunloving
pollinator species of plants are welcome.
-Melissa's update on the VT Center for Ecostudies article on Planting Under Power lines for
Pollinators

UPCOMING GARDEN TOURS
Denise suggests a group tour for PPLC to the Cady’s Falls Botanical Garden. Groups are
welcome if we email ahead. The Averys have many North American natives, woodland species,
and shrubs on display. It’s a beautiful collection and a local treasure.

UPCOMING PLANTING PROJECTS DISCUSSION
-Possible sites for new plantings in Stowe, Melissa
-Prospect St. planting in Hyde Park -Peter
-Noyes Museum Garden?
-The Town Office Property in Hyde Park needs an upgrade under a maple tree (small drip line
area); Denise suggests two Thursdays in September (19 and 26) at 5:30 pm. One to prep the soil
and one to seed in a woodland mix and some plants. Volunteers will be needed. Learn to install
a native woodland meadow.

-Guest Speakers: Denise contacted Leslie Spencer, a Doctoral student at UVM, to update us on
pollinators in VT.
