CALLING ALL LOCAL RIVER STEWARDS!

Join us on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for a river cleanup along the Lamoille River! This event, which is part of ongoing flood recovery efforts in the area, is being coordinated by the Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) in partnership with the Lamoille River Paddlers Trail (LRPT) steering committee. We’ll focus on removing trash and debris left behind by the recent floods, targeting three stretches of the river in the Morrisville/Johnson corridor. Each stretch is no more than 4 miles and manageable for all skill levels. The three sections are:

If you have a boat(s) you’re willing to use (canoes preferred), please bring it, along with paddles, PFDs, comfortable water shoes, gloves, and sun protection — you’ll want to be comfortable out on the water for a few hours! We plan to bring some extra boats, so if you’re interested in participating but don’t have one you can still participate, just let us know ahead of time. Dumpsters will be placed at each of the take-out points to dispose of whatever trash we collect. Let’s come together to restore the river and make a difference in our community!
