Shoreland Restoration Workshop Eden August 31st
Thank you to those who already registered for the Lake Eden Shoreland Restoration Workshop. Details are below and on the registration form at https://bit.ly/EdenWorkshop. Registration is open through Wednesday, August 28th.
In preparation for the worksohp, we invite all to watch a short YouTube video from the Federation of Vermont Lakes and Ponds titled "Lake Habitat: Life in the Shallows" available at https://bit.ly/LakeShallows or by following the QR below.
Details
When: August 31, 2024; 10:00am - Noon (Rain Date: September 7)
Where: 78 Barrows Lane (see below for location on Lake Eden)
Why: For the health of the Lake!
Who: All ages are welcome.
How: Parking is limited on Barrows Lane. Please plan to arrive by boat, if possible. Look for Lake Eden Association signs.
What to expect: A welcome from Joan and Dennis Liddy will be followed by:
- an overview of the Lake Eden Watershed Action Plan (Peter Danforth, Lamoille County Conservation District)
- a short interactive puppet show about the importance of native trees to the shallow water habitat (Perry Thomas and friends, Lake Eden Association)
- an introduction to lakeshore landscaping (Holly Greenleaf, landscape designer, and Judy Davis, shoreland consultant)
- hands-on practice planting native trees, shrubs, and perennials
- drawing for personalized shoreland consulting with Judy Davis
