Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus)

Growing Conditions: It prefers well-drained or sandy soils and humid climates but can also grow in boggy areas and rocky highlands.

Ecological Benefits: Great for clean water projects particularly water that is laten with bacteria. It will filter %99.9 of bacterial contaminants. Songbirds and small mammals eat eastern white pine seeds. Snowshoe hares, white-tailed deer, and cottontails browse the foliage; the bark is eaten by various mammals.
